Important Notice: Retest Ordered for English, Commerce, and Sociology
Results for three major subjects—English, Commerce, and Sociology—have been withheld by the NTA. An expert review panel cited typographical, translation, and factual errors in the question papers, alongside significant question repetitions, as the primary reason for withholding scores.
To ensure parity and fairness, the NTA will re-conduct the examination for these three subjects without levying any additional fee on candidates:
- English: September 9 (Shift 1)
- Commerce: September 9 (Shift 2)
- Sociology: September 10 (Shift 1)
Advisory: Candidates registered under English, Commerce, or Sociology attempting to access scorecards will see an “Invalid Application Number/Password” notification. Results and scorecards for these candidates will be published only after the September re-examinations are concluded. The NTA emphasized that this re-test will not delay the processing of scorecards or e-certificates for the other 84 declared subjects.

Final Words

Candidates are advised to keep their login credentials accessible and monitor ugcnet.nta.nic.in regularly for official re-exam admit card updates and digital certificate rollouts.
