With countless wonderful sites and attractions, you will surely find something for your taste here. The versatility is unbelievable!

Have you decided to visit this marvelous location too? If you have, this is what you have to see:

Gyeongbokgung Palace

Gyeongbokgung

Whichever page you open that lists Seoul’s attractions, this palace is going to be at least one of the first three, if not the very first. It is quite expected – the Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul is the grandest and most beautiful palaces situated in this area. Located at the north and quite distant from its neighboring palaces (Eastern and Western palace), the palace of Gyeongbokgung is also referred to as the Northern palace.

If you were to translate its name, this palace would be called the ‘palace of shining happiness’. During the Japanese occupation from 1592 to 1598, the palace’s premises were caught in the fire and destroyed, but all rooms were later restored during King Gojong’s reign.

Myeongdong

Namsan and offers panoramic views of the entire city, accompanied by performances, upscale dining, movies, and exhibitions.

Gwangjang Market

Gwangjang Market

This is the spot to go to if you want to taste some of the local delicacies or purchase quality satin, silk or linen bed sheets. It is a very versatile and busy market, attracting many tourists thanks to the amazing Korean street food. When you go there, you will find a myriad of food stalls that sell bibimbap, bindaettok, gimbap, ttekbokki, sundae, and noodles.

Changdeokgung

Changdeokgung

Being the second palace in the list does not make it any less beautiful – Changdeokgung Palace is the second villa for the Royals after the Gyeongbukgung Palace. Both buildings are pretty much the same over the period of six centuries and attract more and more tourists every year.

The story behind it is that the last emperor of Korea, Sunjong died on the palace’s grounds back in 1926, after which the members of descendants of the Royal Family lived in Nakseonjae.

Insadong

Finally, one of the greatest attractions in Seoul is Insadong, the streets that are filled with stores and culture. Here you can find many goods that are native to Korea, such as hanji – their paper, hanbok – their clothing, as well as folk crafts and traditional pottery.

If you get tired from visiting the 100 galleries in the area, you can sit down in the fine restaurants for some quality dining.

Are you ready for one of the greatest trips in your life? Visit these marvelous attractions in Seoul and get filled with unique culture and amazing memories.
